Gifting vs Anointing Pt1

You Thank you. You okay welcome back richard jeremiah tv i'm richard jeremiah and today we're talking about anointing versus gifting it's It's not the same thing and I believe somebody watching right now has been running on gift and wondering why they feel empty. We're going to talk about that today. So welcome in, like, subscribe, do all that kind of good stuff.

Help us to reach more people. First point I want to bring to you today is this, the gifting is nature. Okay. The gifting is nature.

The anointing is grace. I want to start there. The gifting, guys, is what we're born with or trained. into and it can be inherited uh sharpened it can be built okay the anointing on the other hand okay is god breaking in on top of that or without it at all honestly when we look at psalm 1st samuel chapter 10 the spirit came on him and he prophesied aside what the spirit came on him and he prophesied not because he suddenly got um you know musical or gifted catch this but because something rested on him that wasn't natural it's not something you could buy something you could purchase go out and obtain no you're supernatural but then look what happens later in first samuel chapter 16 verse 14 right after david gets anointed okay the spirit of the lord departed from Saul.

The spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. Those are very important words. Keep that in your mind. Saul kept his crown, okay?

kept his crown. Remember, the gifts are given without repentance. Saul kept his crown. He kept his army.

He kept his charisma, his bearing. everything people would call his gifting he kept none of that left him right he kept all the gifts and He spent the rest of his life now trying to run a kingdom on gifting with no anointing. I imagine that didn't go too well. Trying to run a kingdom with no anointing.

no anointing behind it what did it do it it made him paranoid it made him erratic it made him violent that's honestly what it looks like when gifting is all you've got left and you've got to ask yourself a question at that time and place if you're still operating under gifting are you you know the holy spirit has departed there's no anointing the holy spirit is not pouring over you he's not operating through you so what spirit Are you partnering with in that place of gifting if the Spirit of God has departed? And that would have to be an angel of light. That would have to be of the enemy. I believe that's why the body right now is so out of balance.

There's so many things going on that look like God, smell like God, taste like God, but are not God at all. Now, flip it. Let's look at Basilio out of Exodus 31. Okay?

God says, I have filled him with the Spirit of God. Capital S. The Spirit of God. Who said that?

God said it. What did he say? I have filled him with the Spirit of God. with the spirit of god with all kinds of skills you're unlimited with the anointing of god with the holy spirit of god That is where the anointing comes from.

So, the anointing came first. And that's what elevated the skill into something more than skill. Alright. Even Jesus, when you look at Jesus in Luke chapter 4 verse 18, even Jesus, Luke 4 verse 18 didn't say, I'm gifted at teaching.

He said, the Spirit, capital S, Spirit of the Lord is upon me. he has anointed me there it is right there if jesus led with what was resting catch that if jesus led with what was resting on him and not what he was naturally capable of that's the model for every one of us to be honest with you when we're striving we're typically striving because there's a lack of anointing present not a lot of people want to hear that Not a popular message, but it's the truth. It's the honest truth. Plant this line in your mind, in your heart.

A gifted teacher can explain the cross at Calvary, but only the anointing makes somebody Weep at the cross. Only the anointing can make somebody weep. Only the Spirit of God can truly weep. Touch them in a deep and powerful way.

You can be polished with zero anointing. And people will leave informed and untouched. You can be rough around the edges. Catch this.

With heaven. on you and people leave wrecked, delivered, healed, set free. Do you see what I'm saying? They're going to leave either way, but how are they going to leave?

Are they going to leave with some knowledge and another meaning? Or are they going to leave wrecked by the Lord? And wrecked is not a bad thing. good thing.

Delivered, healed, set free. Somebody watching right now is running on pure gifting alone. Dry, striving, wondering why it feels so empty. Stop striving in the gift.

ask the holy spirit to breathe on it again hallelujah The second point, the gifting can operate without God's presence, but the anointing cannot. This is, this is the scary one, guys. Matthew chapter 7, verses 22 and 23 say that many will say to me in that day, Lord. Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils?

And in thy name done many wonderful works. And Jesus says, watch this. I never knew you. Let's, let's say that again.

He said, I never knew you. All of these superstar evangelists, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, whatever, fill in the blank. What's he going to say to you? There's something to think about.

Amen? We're on a journey. Here he said, I never knew you. He's not disputing that things happened.

Okay, prophecy happened, deliverance happened, miracles happened, but he says he never knew them. listen the miracle signs and wonders took place but they didn't have a relationship with the lord he said I never knew them. Gifting can produce real results with zero relationship with the Lord behind. gifting doesn't require intimacy what is intimacy into me you see amen anointing anointing is intimacy overflowing that's the important thing anointing is The Holy Spirit in relationship with you.

You in relationship with Jesus. Amen. It's the difference between the gifting and the anointing. Balaam in the Old Testament.

testament is a picture of this numbers basically chapters 22 23 and 24 cover this let's just trim it down a little bit here's a man with a real prophetic gift, genuinely hearing from God, genuinely speaking true words over Israel, and what happened there. He was rotten. Rotten to the core. Willing to curse the very people.

He was blessing if the money was right. Grab that The gift functioned But the man Was accomplished compromised. That's proof right there that gifting isn't a character reference. Amen.

a gifted word informs people an anointed word fine people it's specific it's naming things nobody told you about you don't have to go and data mine facebook to get those words you see what i'm saying don't have to go get the church directory that's gifting that's been a lot of the falling we've seen in the body unfortunately but the anointing The time of the Holy Spirit, the anointing pouring through you. Similar to what we're seeing on William Branham, I know he fell later in his life, but I'll tell you something, he had a relationship. with the Spirit of God for many years of his life, and he moved powerfully. That's why a lot of gifted people really pushed him down.

I will say this in the latter part. Part of his life and his ministry, he started going off in his own direction, and that was error. But you can't discount, you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. These words I said, they find people.

It's specific. It's naming things nobody told you about. It's landing on the exact wound that somebody walked in with. That's not better delivery.
