Flip The Switch

Let's get started. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. You good morning family glad you're all here this morning good to be with you this is the day the lord has made family i want to walk me to Richard Jeremiah TV, where we operate from the higher place. Before we go up, I really want to talk to you about going deep.

Amen. Because everyone. wants to go to the high places and we should desire that but if you want to go high we really really need to go deep okay we need to have an understanding of the world we need to have a spiritual understanding so let's jump right in hallelujah guys you can bond to god in one of two ways okay You're probably saying, Richard, what are you saying? Fear or joy?

We can bond to God in fear or we can bond to God in joy. We are to have a healthy fear of the Lord. But that's not a fear as of… with the enemy so let's think about this i want you to think about your phone for just a minute okay got your phone there i want you to think about your phone think about your phone ringing sometimes you see a face or a name on your phone and you're like oh awesome this person's calling me you know but then there's those times where a name shows up and you're like whoa you know you feel that burden which one shows up when you think about God let me ask you that and move the whole thing out of the morning so we can get right with the Lord this morning.

Amen? So we can get lined up. When you think about God calling you, which one shows up? Many of us have been motivating ourselves by fear.

of what happens if we don't have that fearful heart. instead of joy. Instead of joy of what is possible if we do have a joyful heart toward God. So let's jump into the word though so we make this very clear this morning.

Amen. If we read from 1 John chapter 4, verse 18, it reads, Perfect love drives out fear, right? Perfect love, Jesus, because fear carries… forment.

Fear has not yet been in love. All right, looking at Romans chapter 8 verse 15, you did not receive what? A spirit of slavery. Fear.

To fall back. Wow. Romans 8 15. You did not receive a spirit.

of slavery to fall back rather into fear there we go you receive this spirit capital s holy spirit the spirit of adoption okay and by you cry out Abba Zephaniah with singing this is the God we see in Zephaniah 317 he's the God anyone who saves he rejoices over you with singing grab that family praise god that brings joy to me He rejoices over you with singing. Thank you, Lord. Church, God is not waiting to catch you slipping. God, in fact, is glad to see you showing up.

He wants to talk. He wants to spend time. The deepest desire… of every human heart is for someone to be happy to see us let's let's be honest that's disease that's the deepest desire of our heart that somebody is happy to see us and unfortunately that doesn't take place very often but heaven has been happy to see you since before you were even born all right so second everybody has a switch the other day we discussed the light switch two days ago i believe in the our programming and we discussed a light switch the lights on or off it's a flip of a switch can change that fast everybody has a switch in a lot of ways when it's on In this case, you're curious.

You appreciate people. You are kind. And you can look someone in the eye. Okay?

What are we saying here? That's when the switch is what? On. When the switch is off, you shut down.

You cannot find one thing to appreciate. gonna be transparent this happens in my life a lot when your switch is off do not keep talking that's basically what it comes down to we've got to quiet ourself you know imagine quieting yourself I've been reading in Psalm 46, 10. You know, cease striving. Be still and know that he is in…

God Almighty then find one thing After you've stilled yourself, after you've been still and you know that he's God, then find one thing. Just one. Don't try to do it all. Try one thing to be thankful for.

And actually enter into that place of thankfulness. Don't try to do the whole gamut. Try to find one thing and choose to be thankful in that thing. And don't just make it word service.

That really, we need to get our heart there. Philippians chapter 4, verse 8. We're told to fix our mind on what is true, what is honorable, what is lovely, and what is worthy. Psalm chapter 16 verse 11.

It says that in his presence is the fullness of what? Joy. In his presence of joy. Thank you, Lord.

So let me ask you something. Imagine if you were to practice that twice a day. Do you think it would make a difference? practicing his presence twice a day family in your brain and that you can the storms that come home peacefully grab that do we sense Him?

You know, the angry Father, we can never please God. We're to have a reverent fear of the Lord, but that's a different thing. Joy of the Lord is your strength and your stronghold. Imagine that joy is a…

full of air can bounce back from anything it has bounce okay are you with me a punctured ball will either keep keep losing air if it's a prick hole a little pinhole prick hole whatever you call it or if it's been slashed wide open it it's gonna have to be sealed but nonetheless a punctured ball is going to keep losing air and that is where healing comes in amen so we can bounce back some of you are not failures you look at yourself and you say i'm a failure my life's failing i'll never be anything. Those are negative words, by the way. Don't say those things. It brings life to them.

The truth is you're just leaking. In Isaiah 50 and 34, verse 18, I'm sure you're familiar with it. This is where the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. And he rescues those who have been crushed in spirit.

Been there, done that. I'm sure you probably have. have as well to be honest with you but guys we look at the book of psalm again no actually we're going to go to isaiah let's go to isaiah 61 verse 1 and isaiah 60 1 1 just where he binds up and heals the broken -hearted amen binds up and heals the broken -hearted let him go back to the wound. It's not the size of the wound that matters.

He's God. Amen. It's the size of the lie planted there that matters. 2 Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 5, it says to take every thought captive, prisoner of war, okay?

Romans 12. verse 2 says be transformed by what the renewing of your mind so we're to take every thought captive and we are to be transformed by The renewing of our mind, what does that look like? We're in the Word, we're close to Him, we come to know Him. And we let Him pull up the lie.

plant truth in its place amen is this the relationship bigger than the problem problems in this life are going to come it's promised but god's bigger Are we under his cover, amen? Are we relying on his hand to lead us, amen? We've got to keep the relationship bigger than the problem. Maybe you blew it.

Maybe you blew it with your wife, with your job, with your… husband with your kids something even this week listen do not wait keep the relationship with the Lord bigger than the problem. Go to God with it. Amen?

Let God guide you in truth. Do not wait. Ephesians chapter 4, verses 26. 27 says do not let the sun go down on your anger do not let the sun go down your anger and do not give the enemy a foothold that's action -packed don't let the Sun go down on your anger don't go to sleep angry with people husband peaceful and do not give the enemy a foothold what things in this life have we opened up what sin patterns what um pleasures etc have we opened up that ultimately give the enemy a foothold we need to shut those doors amen i'm just going to say it like this admit it own it Without blaming them.

I wrote a book on. A Christian book on narcissists. And. I'm going to tell you.

We've got. to be real careful. It's real easy to say, you know, a narcissist will never own up to it. It's not my, not my problem.

I don't make mistakes. It's all your fault. That's pretty much just a glimpse of the narcissistic view. But let me tell you, it can get interesting.

A narcissist, a crafty narcissist can sit there and take some part in it. Yes, I did this, but there's that word, but you see, they still turning it around. back at you, back at the situation. But no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

We need to admit it. We need to own it without blaming them. That's the problem. We get into a situation where we want to sit there and, you know, okay, I'll partially take this, but I'm going to send it back to you with, but no, we must admit it.

We must own it. without blaming them and we must go repair it and i'll acknowledge to you right now there are some relationships that are beyond repair in those cases take it to god and give it to god God, repent, renounce, amen, turn from it, pray for them, hand it to God, and move on. Don't be stuck. Amen, but don't sit there and pray.

pride either that'll sink your battleship real quick and last but never least suffering suffering suffering suffering suffering suffering becomes trauma when you feel alone in it amen um are you catching what i'm trying to say here suffering becomes trauma when you feel all alone in it. You know, you can't do this alone. You need to be with the Lord. Amen?

But you also need people in your life that are Holy Spirit-filled. men and women of God. I know many of us have been burnt, bruised broken by leaders, ex-wives blah blah blah you know where half-truths were out there you look like the most terrible person in the world and people have half-truths the truth. Listen, it is what it is.

God keeps perfect score. Forgive those people. Let go and move on. So going back here to Isaiah, we need to hear Isaiah 43 too.

When you pass through the waters, okay, He is with you, God is with you, and the rivers will not overflow you. You're going to go through problems, you're going to go through trials and trials. tribulations you're going to go through situations okay but god is near and the rivers will not overflow you you must remember something family you're not alone amen you're not alone it's easy to get caught in that place and say oh boy i'm doing this alone no go back to yesterday's broadcast and let's do it i explain real clearly how god is dealing with people in situations when he may seem distant from you, which he's not, he's actually keeping you and holding harm back from you. All right, hallelujah.

Remember, Jesus is present with you guys. He's present with you in the very place that hurts you the most. And he wants to heal that place. So today, that's right, today.

We're going to be still. We're going to thank God. And you're going to do that until you feel it. Forgive quickly.

And go deep. so he can take you high. Glory to God. Psalm 118.24 is something I encourage you to really dig into.

because it's truth every day it says this is the day the Lord has made so let us rejoice and be glad in it. Don't be held back. Don't listen to the lies of the enemy. Don't listen to the defeats of yesterday.
