Demons Are Chumps (Why They Still Have Power Over You)

You To be continued… I don't know. You good morning wednesday october the 7th 2026 today we're talking about why demons still have power or over you and well that sounds you know it can sound rough honestly it can feel very overpowered and it doesn't have to be today we're going to talk about that we're going to talk about freedom How to be free from these enemies. Amen.

How to be free from the devil. It's simpler than you think, but there's some adjustments that we must make. So join me today on this beautiful day. You can see in front of me such a calm day.

today sun's coming up here in galveston texas and um let's jump right on top of this welcome guys glad you're here with me this morning so without further ado um let's just jump right into it demons are honestly just oversized chumps okay um so you ask yourself why do they still have power over me fair question fair question let's jump into a few things real quick the word demon It comes from the Greek word daimon, D -A -I -M -O -N, daimon. You know, Moses, when he was writing in Hebrew, he used the word shedem, S -H -E -D. I am. So when we look in the Bible, amen, it's important things line up in the Bible.

In Deuteronomy chapter 32 verse 17, he says, Israel sacrificed two demons. which were no gods grab that no gods these are lesser spirits they are created okay and when we look in Colossians what do we see there Colossians chapter 2 verse 15 it says Jesus disarmed the principalities And Powers, catch that, and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them at the cross. Where? At the cross at Calvary's.

So you say, okay, you said demons are chumps. Why? Fair question. Fair question.

Why are demons chumps? Guys, Christians are… so cowardly many times that they won't even say the word demon i'm not saying we need to go around and taunt it and you know sell it no that's not it but to fear it to be cow about it that's a whole nother situation amen we don't need to fear the enemy but we need to make sure that we are standing right in a couple of places because if we're not we're going to get ourselves into some situations okay and many times that's what happens in our life oh praise the lord praise the lord so we say oh don't don't say demons you might give them some kind of power folks let's clear some things up today amen let's go and clear this up and let's do it in the bible praise god so go into the word of God here. Luke chapter 10 verse 19.

Jesus said right there, behold what I give you authority to trample. on what? Snakes and scorpions. Jesus said, I give you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.

Not some of it, not a little bit of it. over all the power of the enemy so grab that authority over it all period it's that simple here is the truth that held me for years because i did not know it the control they have over your life is not the extent of their power watch this grab this this is the key it's the extent of your sin repeat that Richard it's the extent of your sin. Amen. That's what gives demons control.

One of the things, major things that gives demons control over your life. Well, that's interesting. that's very interesting let's just try to fix that there we go so you know it's the amount of permission you've given them to occupy let's try that again It's the amount, guys, of permission you've given them to occupy your life. We have authority and control, but when we start opening up sin, we begin to give the enemy the upper hand.

We don't want to do that. My spiritual mother… He used to tell me all the time, son, be careful, don't give the enemy the upper hand. Very important.

Ephesians chapter 4 verse 27 says, Do not give, what? The devil a foothold. we need to be careful you can't give a foothold that doesn't exist what does that mean if you're not sinning amen if you're not especially an unrepentant sin or repetitive sin then And you're walking in authority and power. Whatever you keep obeying has a claim on you.

And the enemy knows that. Those demons, they know that. so I've been there and I want to tell you something right now I am not judging you at all you know I'm a human like you I've done horrible things in life sleeping around i've had serious problems for long periods of time you know throughout our life at some point unless you're just totally perfect you're going to have experienced things and gone through things amen there is no condemnation for you no condemnation for those who believe amen my question today is this are you living in a place that you are repented on your sins are you living where you're not and sin, basically. Amen?

If you are struggling with things, are you under accountability with your pastor or whoever your leader is in your life? You may be in a small house church. That's fine. Amen?

uh but you need to if you're struggling with some sin you need to be in accountability to get free okay everybody's been there everybody's got a closet nobody a lot of people don't want to recognize that or talk about it until they get exposed for it but i'm going to say this to you make sure you're repented amen and living right before the lord that's going to leave those doors shut to the enemy and not give them a foothold glory to god so there's let me just break it down there's something in your past life probably from your past that you're holding on to that's I think that's the cleanest way I can say that, that you're holding on to. You know, I'm not, I'm not. calling out one person on here i'm having to talk to everybody amen and if this if the shoe fits wear it guys because i want you free you can be in the midst of confusion chaos not sleeping at night Your ears are throbbing, you know, weird things are happening, and there's a reason. This is typically, this is one of the main reasons, sin.

We've got to make sure that we have repented, we've renounced it, the doors are shut. not playing around with it if you're playing around with sin the enemy is going to get a foothold in your life and you are not not going to be comfortable in that i assure you so Let me say this to you. If you're watching this and you think that I'm talking about you or your case specifically, I just want you to know something. I've gotten a lot of messages over time.

about this very same thing. So I'm addressing it publicly. I'm addressing it publicly. I'm not talking about any one private person that sent me a private message about…

your problems. I'm not the type person that goes out and exposes you. If you come forward and say, man, I need some help with this. I need some prayer with this.

You have my word. You have Pastor Brian's word. We are not going to take and blast you everywhere. I see it happening everywhere.

that's not us if you come asking for help we are gonna we are gonna walk with you as long as you're willing to walk through it we're gonna walk with you through it biblically amen and that's the key so it is a heavy topic okay it's a heavy topic and it's it's quite frequent to be honest with you and that's the reason i figured i would go ahead and address it in addition to answering some of the messages over time all right now i want you to remember something okay i want you to remember something these demons feed off of fear and they feed off of sin let me repeat that these demons they they feed off of fear and they feed off of sin grab that those are two things things two main things that they feed off of there's other things as well like unforgiveness make sure that you have forgiven everyone you know but these are two main things fear and sin it's like um there's a movie out there i don't remember what it's called but they they they go into this house they go into this place and uh you see these gauges of fear And the amount of fear that they can pull off of you basically is the amount of control that they have over you. So if you're living in fear, the demons have control over you, that amount. Amen? Get that fear out of your life.

Fearing the enemy elevates the enemy to the place of God, our God. the only God, amen, because you're supposed to fear God and nothing else, grab that, we are to fear God and nothing else, praise God. Praise God. So, let's look at the Bible.

Family, Isaiah chapter 8, verses 12. and 13 it says do not fear what they fear grab that The Lord of hosts, him you shall regard as holy and let him. Be your fear and your dread. Also, the book of luke the book of luke chapter 12 verses 4 and 5 jesus said do Do not fear those who can kill the body, but fear him who has authority over everything.

that's god that's our god amen the only god the living god so i'd have to say that is one of the the cool parts about being a believer amen about Christianity if you will if you truly fear God you can't fear anything else now remember The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Amen? So, you can't walk through life fearless if you're fearing God. And fearing God is a different thing than fearing God.

the enemy amen it's the correct fear if you will we're never built to fear the enemy but um here's what we do as christian believers we fear many times the devil and we don't fear God. And that's why so many times many people have demonic problems. problems. Fear is a form of worship.

Grab that. Fear is a form of worship. So when you fear demons, you're worshiping the enemy, those demons. You're empowering.

them, when you fear them. 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 7 it says very clearly God has not given us a spirit of fear. Grab that. But what?

A sound mind, a spirit of a… sound mind so if fear is in you it did not come from god amen are we are we tracking together if fear is in you it did not come from God. That's not God at all. The devil is a liar.

All right. So, how do I say this? this many times ties up in the sin cycle amen it ties up in the sin cycle and Sin gives demons permission to stay, and they use that closeness to terrify you. They've been given authority.

They use that closeness. to terrify you which causes you more fear are you following me which does what typically brings more sin Which brings more open doors, more access for the enemy. You, in effect, get what we call a feedback loop. you've heard it before like that echo you get a feedback loop and you feel what crushed but you're not you're not but when you're in that feedback loop when you're under that oppression you feel it and i know it feels horrible i've been there but i'm telling you it's a very simple problem to solve but you've got to stop sinning you've got to stop sinning because that's what's giving the end to me that access fear fear God amen not man fear God and not that enemy glory to God what Once you're out of that situation, once you're out of that feedback loop as we referred to it earlier, it's a very simple problem.

In fact, you're literally going to say, I can't believe that thing had me so, hello, I can't believe that thing had me so deceived. You're going to see the real you. you need to realize something the enemy is not as powerful as he makes it look you've given him access through sin through fear shut those doors shut it down it's going to take a little time James 4, 7 is real clear about it. Amen.

Submit to God. Flee the enemy. Draw nigh to God. God will draw nigh to you.

Amen. It takes a little time. But you're going to see… It was just smoke and mirrors, amen, just projections the enemy was putting out there towards you.

Look at the Bible, 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 4. it says the god lowercase g not not not our god the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers he's done what the the god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers. Deception is their main weapon, not power, deception. John chapter 8 verse 32 and it says you shall know the what the truth you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free amen we need to know Jesus Jesus is truth his word is truth.

Everything in our line needs to be a plumb line straight into that Word. Did you know that the Bible is the only infallible source of prophecy? Amen? So when we look at John 8 and 32, it says you shall know the truth you shall know jesus you shall know the word of god amen and the truth shall make you free the enemy wants you in deception the lord wants you You in truth, John 8, 32.

That's why so many are stuck right now. And I know it feels horrible, but I want you to know something. There is hope. for you your situation and it's very very very simple so the way the way that you break the sin cycle is not to just pray to god and say oh god please give me less fear no don't do that that's a trap the enemy wants you to do that don't do that we'll go back to the bible What do we see?

1 John chapter 4, verse 18. It says, perfect love casts out all fear. Perfect love. Who is that?

That's Jesus. That's the Lord God, amen? Perfect love casts out all fear. So pray for more love.

Is it making sense, guys? Pray for more love. for increased love and keep praying that prayer over over over over and over and while you pray while you pray it Be dealing with those doors of sin. Be dealing with those doors of fear.

1 John chapter 1 verse 9 says, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and he is just to what? Forgive us and cleanse us from what? All unrighteousness. Then, as I mentioned just a minute ago, James chapter 4, verse 7.

It's real clear, guys. It's a stair step. Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil.

And the devil… will flee from you. Thank God. Submit first, then resist, the enemy flees.

Let's also look at 1 John chapter 3 verse 8 says that the Son of God God was revealed for this reason, to destroy the works of the devil. that's his job and it's already done are you with me to destroy the works of the devil Jesus Christ did it on the cross at Calvary. Death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, where now he sits at the right hand of the Father. You know, you start getting…

into the Word, you realize that the Bible tells us the truth that we are seated in Christ Jesus in heavenly places. Family, really grab that. Yes, we're here naturally. I'm in Texas.

You may be somewhere. You may be in India, you may be in the Philippines, you may be in Los Angeles, you could be anywhere. We're physically on this planet, but the Bible tells us as well that we're seated in Christ Jesus in heavenly places. Right now.

That's deep. We are in Him. We need to draw close to Him. We need to get into a deeper relationship with Him.

Is that making sense, family? So, you know, don't get inundated and drawn down and, you know, under the deception of the enemy thinking it's just, I'm never going to get out of this. I'm never going to get out of this. Realize the cycle.

He's got you in a headlock. You opened the door. You were sinning. You were fearing.

He got you in a headlock. And then the cycle just went deeper and deeper and deeper. The good news is this. Exist the enemy and he will flee.

Submit to God. The first thing is, Lord, give me more love. Basically, Lord, give me more love. Give me more love, Lord.

Let that be your prayer today. more love give me more love submit to god does that mean it's over instantly no you're walking through the process though and you're now depending on god's love and you are now working on that door and you're doing it with the Lord. You can't do it alone. Submit to God.

Flee from the Amen. The enemy? Flee from the enemy. flee from you you'll be a part and then it's going to break that cycle praise god family i love you so much thanks for spending time with me this morning it's been just an amazing time with you and I'm praying for you we love you and always feel free to leave a comment you know and just know that we're praying for you we are praying for you.

What I shared with you today is the way out. Don't be discouraged. Be encouraged today. Be encouraged.

And be real, very intentional. about exiting that pattern the more you stay in sin it allows the enemy's hold on you to grow and grow and grow but i'll promise you this when you choose to sit Admit and begin to call out to God, you know, you're, you're repenting. You're confessing to God. You're renouncing these sins.

You're praying, Lord. I need more love God is going to begin to move in your life in amazing ways and as he does family don't give in to the enemy's little whims he'll throw little attacks at you he'll try to get you to falter oh just go back and you know do Whatever it is, smoke that weed or go back and drink that bottle or go back and look at pornography or, you know, have sex or whatever it is, fill in the blank. It's sin. Don't let the enemy pull you into that.

Resist him. God will pull you out. Amen? God will pull you out.
